I have a question about kenpo for anyone that would know?

why do we have to learn the form "Heian Nidan"? This is a Shotokan form and I don't see what it has to do with Shaolin Kenpo. My instructors don't know either. And also, why do we have to learn Heian Nidan, wich is the second form in a set of five katas, instead of learning the first of the set "Heian Shodan"?
