Grammar check please?
A boy and his grandpa lived in a farmhouse outside the town in Benton, Tennessee. It was Election Day, so they headed to the main town. Once they arrived, they noticed a change in the town’s atmosphere. As they approached the courthouse, armed National Guardsmen peacefully asked them to step out of their vehicle in search of explosives. The reason of such defensive procedures was the cruel murdered of one of the candidates running for sheriff’s office. There were rumors that the opposite party planned the ination; moreover, rumors declared that the courthouse was to be bombarded with explosives. Regardless of the event and rumored attack, the grandpa was determined to make his vote speak up against the voting supremacy. He went up the steps of the building.
