Obama says a lot of things about his faith but why should I believe him?

In the Qur'an 3:28 it says, "Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers: If any do that, nothing will there be from Allah: EXCEPT BY WAY OF PRECAUTION, THAT YE MAY GUARD YOURSELVES.
