Opinions please...PLEASE?

okay i really like this guy Kalel and i'm thinking about going out with him but i'm scared because he seem like a cool person but my friend Malichi won't stop getting mad about it. He was like if i talk to Kalel he will stop being friends with me because he's going to hurt me (he's scared if i say no to him he won't listen and things will get bad). I was like whatever i won't because i don't want to ruin a good friendship over a guy but my other friend Daryl was like don't pay him no mind because Malichi likes me and will tell me anything to get me to leave Kalel alone. Now i'm so confused because i don't want to hurt anybody and Kalel don't seem all that bad. Advice pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…
